Benefits & Pay

Training / Orientation Pay 
During your training/orientation, motel arrangements are made and paid for by South Shore Transportation Company. You will also receive $750 upon completion of 6-day orientation [1]. 

Driver Percentage Pay 
25% of load line-haul revenue [2] 
26% on USG loads greater than 275 miles - based on Rand McNally HHGoods shortest miles

Additional Pay 
· Stop-Off Pay - $25 or 25% of the stop-off charge after the first stop
· Detention Pay - $18/hour after 2 hours if on time
· Re-consignment Pay 
· Out-of-Route Mileage Pay
· Tarp Pay - $25/load for tarping backhaul loads
· Breakdown Pay - After 2 hours $18/hour

Lowe's Double Out Bonus
If you haul 2 loads from either Lowe's flatbed distribution centers in one day we pay an additional $25 bonus for the 2nd load hauled. 

Vacation Pay 
· One week of vacation after one year of employment 
· Two weeks of vacation after two years of employment 
· Three weeks of vacation after seven years of employment 
· Paid at $900 per week 

Paid Holidays 
· Seven per year 
· Paid at $180 per day 
· Eligible on date-of-hire 

Military Leave 
· Time off for required military training and service 

Funeral Leave 
· Up to three days of paid funeral leave for the death of an immediate family member 

Driver Trainer Pay 
· Driver Trainers receive $250 for each week (5 days) or $50 / day when training 

Cell Phone Reimbursement 
· Cellular phone reimbursement at $50 / month flat fee if you keep one with you during working hours 

Sign-On Bonus 
· $625 [3] 

Referral Bonus 
Earn an EXTRA $1500 for every experienced driver you refer who is hired. We pay $375 after the employee’s 3, 6, 9 and 12 month anniversary date. As you can tell, we are looking for good drivers that will stay with us. [4]

1) Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL Class A) in your state of residence 
2) Must be able to pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance test (negative non-dilute test result)

Company and Physical

1) Minimum age of 25 
2) Minimum of 1 year and 100,000 miles of verifiable tractor-trailer (5th wheel) experience in all weather 
3) Stable work history 
4) No DUI or reckless driving convictions, no positive controlled substance tests or felony convictions past 10 years 
5) No more than three moving violations, or combination of one highway “at fault” accident and two citations within the past three years. “At fault” accidents or citations in both personal and commercial vehicles are included 
6) Must be able to pass South Shore’s road test
